Staving off the Fall Blues

Oh my god! It’s wonderful to have my internet back again for how ever long I can keep it. Well I had this little number in my closet for quite a while from the Emery sale but never got a chance to blog on it. I have to admit that my favorite piece of the entire outfit is the DeLa trench coat. I knew the minute I saw it when I was browsing Xstreet that I had to use it in styling an outfit. The texturing is so well done that it looks soft, supple and luxurious. I’ve always been a fan of highwaisted pants- jeans or slacks or otherwise. Something about the fit always slims everything down and shows off the stomach to it’s best advantage even if you have 0 body fat. [laughs] I was so lucky to find this skin in the Fashion Freaks Hunt and am really glad that I decided to give it a look since the name alone didn’t appeal to me. It just goes to show you how you shouldn’t ever judge a book by it’s cover or a Hunt by it’s name. Platinum Hunt Pt2 & The Dressing Room

Okay so I took a trip on down to the Dressing room yesterday and I have to say that I fell in love with nearly everything there- especially the skins. If you don’t know what the Dressing Room is, it’s a great little place that provides quality discounted items from top brand named designers. The skins I bought were around 70L or so and I couldn’t be happier. Who says you can’t look good without pinching your wallet until it whimpers??! Certainly not I! I also found this wonderful LeeZu Gown on the hunt as well as an awesome long coat that just made me feel like a queen. I can’t even forget to mention the goodies that I found at Vinyl Cafe which provides great discount items along with freebies for group members. You need to stop on by there to get a pair of these great shoes and other things!

Oh Em Gee! Platinum Hunt Pt 1 & So much more!

I found a ton of great goodies lately through the Platinum Hunt and also at the dressing room so you’ll be seeing a lot of posts coming up in rapid succession this week. Keep an eye out because I’ll also be posting a few great finds from the Shoe Fair 2010.  Men, I truly truly haven’t forgotten about you. I have something great planned in the works that will allow you to gain exposure for your amazing styling abilities and help other men that need some help with styling as well. So stay tuned! Now if you haven’t heard about the Platinum Hunt, I’m here to get you informed! It’s a grid-wide hunt with some of the hottest brand name designers that have put an item up for the hunt that is over 400L! The hunt items aren’t free (10L) but that’s still something to get excited about. I found some amazing skins and you’ll see my absolute new favorite below. A tip to all you SL hunters out there for the PH: Items are usually within 40 meters of the landing point and unless they specify, it’s going to be on the same level that you land- so no stairs! I’ll have another tip coming up that may help although this hunt was so easy that even I could do it and I really do suck at figuring out hints.

This elf skin was found from Mynerva on the PH and it comes with ears, eyes, eyeliner and several versions of this skin that include the eye band and without. I love the cleavage because one of the things I always lamented about being a model was I lost some of my curves but nice cleavage enhancers bring it all back. Of course as long as it doesn’t look too cartoony.

Now this outfit I didn’t find on the hunt but it’s still blog worthy today because I found these outfits from Bare Rose- one of my all-time favorite stores in second life. I had these outfits for quite a while in my inventory but never got a chance to play with them until a few days ago. Boy I’m glad I found the time!

Gifts Aplenty – G Field

Now I don’t know anyone around second life or even real life that does not enjoy a great and high quality gift from their favorite designers. I know I sure do. But the winter season is still here and I intend to milk it for all it is bloody worth. I can’t deny that the new season is going to be soon upon us but I want to send the winter season off with a bang and really make sure I get my money’s worth. Too many times do I purchase winter season outfits and see them taking up precious space in my inventory as they are never worn or used again until the time comes that I clean out my inventory and suddenly find them.

I know that I’m not the only one that this occurs to but this happens especially often with group gifts that I recieve on a daily basis and never have the time or bother to open and take a look. This is such a shame for those awesome gifts that end up being thrown aside and the talent used to create them goes to waste. But one of my new years resolutions was to change this around and make this a new day. I recently recieved some awesome group gifts from “G Field” and if you have never been here I urge you all to stop by and take a peek at their great designs and amazingly cheap prices that makes a great wardrobe affordable for anyone! Just for the Guys!!!!

Okay. This is basically a complete and utter first for me but I hope that it’s well received by the masses. Let me just say doing this was a bit tougher than I thought it would be but I persevered and rocked these outfits out! So you may be thinking what in the world I’m talking about so let me just clarify. I created my first male avatar for blogging on male outfits and articles. Now I should have probably created an entirely new and different account with a male name instead of using my main account. This would’ve saved me a lot of time and prevented a ton of questions from random people as I went on the Just for guys hunt. I have to say that it was entertaining to see what others said when they saw my avatar. I’m told by my female friends I’m a lot hotter as a male than a female but I’ll let you all be the judge since I’m really much too fond of my female avatar and self to change to a male. [Laughs]

Now as I was saying before I began to digress on my new part time, semi look, I joined the Just for the guys hunt since it promised to have some really nice and high quality things for the guys. I never realized how difficult it was to shop for a man so I have to say that all the male models out there have my utmost respect for you and what you do. But below you will see a few of the items I managed to snap up during my little foraging and explorations and I really hope that all of you enjoy it. It took some time and effort- especially trying to get all those hints- but I am really happy with my findings. Enjoy! Get Your Winter Choices!

In my previous post I mentioned WinterChoice 2009. If you aren’t aware of it, it’s a “hunt-like” event that includes several great quality japanese designers within second life where you buy an outfit from one of the participating designers or receive the stamp card from my great friend Revanna Mistwallow who got me into the whole thing. You are to go around the grid to the participating designers’ stores and click on the stamper until you receive all of them. Once you receive all your stamps you go to the main kiosk at the location specified on their website. You follow the instructions and you can pick one prize per one fully stamped card. This is something I found fun and entertaining to do with a few friends and you really get to find some awesome and reasonably priced stores of such high quality. I fell in love with a few of the stores I teleported, one of those was COCO.

The winter season is not quite over yet so I’m milking it for all it’s worth. I absolutely love the winter season for the coats, boots, scarfs, hairstyles, jackets, sweaters, pants, etc. They’re such a comfort to wear, see and feel wherever I go and it automatically brings a very comfortable and homey reaction when I don a pair of winter boots and a full length trench coat. The prize I chose from COCO reflected that warmed and even had my favorite style- red! It’s both luscious and casual with such a sweetness that can’t be denied. It doesn’t need much to accessorize and really make this outfit pop except some awesome red boots that I bought from ETD that really tops off that luxuriousness. The outfit did come with a pair of boots itself but really didn’t fit my style as it was just a plain black and white and really needed a bit more color. But I’m happy with my prize and the extra 200 that I had to spend to really set it off right.

You are such a PUNK!

Another day and another thousand L spent on some more awesome outfits. Today I was in a pretty casual and punky mood when I went to hang out with my sisters as we celebrated her baby shower for her 9th child. Yes I know what you’re thinking: “Is she from the Brady Bunch??” No she’s just someone that loves being a mother but I digress. I love the classy, high end and chic dresses as much as the next girl- maybe even more so because I don’t wear a lot of dresses in real life. But as I was participating in the Winterchoice 2009 StampCard Event I came across this amazing store and I wanted to be the one to share it with you along with the prize I won.

The pants from NINIKO are probably my favorite pair of the moment- probably the entire month because it’s funky, cute, and comfortable. I decided to go all out in my “I could careless mood” and added some skuffed tartan sneakers from TwentyFIRST from Xstreet. You cannot believe all the great goodies you can find in the popular isle filled with very cheap promo items from quality stores and designers. But with the plaid you know I had to get a nice buttoned white shirt with some suspenders from Naith Smit Designs. It comes in two styles for men and women- black/white shirt and black/white suspenders. I just couldn’t resist with the ciggy. [Grins]

Lelutka Goodies – Gotta Love it

Now I’m sure that everyone loves to get free goodies from their favorite designers. I mean not only having quality but getting it for no cost to you?? What more can you ask for?! I’m also fairly certain that everyone received a ton of great free items, gifts, great dollarbies, etc. over the christmas and new year holidays. If you didn’t think you weren’t in the right groups and need to get with a friend to fix that asap! Now as a self certified fashionista I love to shop as much as the next girl but even more than shopping I love shopping and finding that bargain! So I was minding my own when what seemed to drop unexpectedly into my lap? These wonderful gifts from lelutka that I just fell in love with the minute I got dressed.

Now I rarely wear gowns except for those special occasions or at a ballroom but these outfits are just so fabulous that I ended up wearing them all through the day! I encourage everyone to join the Lelutka group to get updates and free gifts that are given out periodically. No matter what your style is you can’t deny the quality and sensuality of these gowns. I admit that my favorite of the two is Lelutka- Constricted (first gown) because it gives off that romantic period feel and the corset brings great attention to your waist and adds height and slims you down. The way it nips you in the waist like a lover’s caress just makes it feel luxurious and expensive. The skin I’m wearing was also free from Glance in the Peace On Earth Hunt (ended) but it’ll be back next year so keep on the look out!
